find your women
Gosh. It has been a while hasn’t it.
Truth be told, a lot has happened over the last couple of years. Two of my gorgeous boys started school, I took on a new exciting role in casual dining and we have been going through a renovation project. It’s safe to say that writing blogs, which I loved, has fallen to the bottom of the list.
I used to put so much pressure on myself to get the right content out at the right time. I now come from a place of wanting to share because it means something at that specific time. So this may be the beginning of many posts, just like it may be the last one for a while. But my promise is to stay connected to sharing when it feels truly meaningful.
The reason I am writing today is because I have just walked away from a conversation feeling uplifted, inspired and empowered. This isn’t the first time this has happened, but it feels like a different kind of feeling today.
it was one of our Lean In calls — a group of women who, for the most part, have never met face to face. yet somehow, through these little squares on a screen, we have built something real. A space where masks slip, where stories pour out, and where we remind one another of who we are when the world makes us forget.
Today, one of our women shared openly about what she is navigating in her personal life. It is a lot. More than most could carry. And yet, what she showed us was not just resilience, but courage. In the middle of her storm, she is daring to launch two businesses. She speaks quietly, almost not realising the magnitude of what she is doing — but I see it. we all saw it.
And here’s the beautiful part: the other women on that call didn’t let her brush past her own bravery. they held the mirror up for her. they reflected back the magnitude of what she is building — the sheer strength, the determination, the inspiration she carries without even noticing. they gave her the courage to see it and commit to more.
Her determination left me speechless. Her courage reminded me of what is possible when women come together and witness one another without judgment. And her empowerment — even if she doesn’t yet fully feel it herself — radiated across that call.
What struck me most was this: so often, women don’t realise how inspiring they are. We underestimate our own strength because we’re too busy just surviving. But when you have women around you who reflect it back to you, who say “look at yourself, look at what you’re doing “, it changes everything.
That’s what happened today. and that’s why I’m writing this.
To every woman reading: find your women. The ones who lift you higher when you’re heavy. The ones who remind you of your power when you forget. The ones who see in you what you can’t always see in yourself.
Because when you find those women, you don’t just get through the storm. you rise.
